It is not often that we witness a true game changer in the Enterprise Content Management industry. Small improvements pop up here and there, as user provide enhancement requests to the manufacturer. Some of these have more relevance than others but none are truly game changers. Until now!
FileBound has officially announced the upcoming release of V 7.4 and with it FileBound Connect. So, what is FileBound Connect, and what makes it a game changer? In technical terms Connect is a “follow me” application that runs in the system tray of your PC. The application reads the data on the program you are working in, and notifies you if there are documents saved to FileBound based on the values within your active screen. What this means from a user’s perspective is that they no longer need to leave their line of business application to search for a document saved in FileBound. FileBound Connect automatically lets you know. Want to view the image? Simple, just double click on the link in the Connect window and the image is retrieved by FileBound and displayed in the FileBound viewer. All from your line of business application.
Looking for even more functionality? FileBound Connect allows you to save images without the need of additional scan software. It automatically indexes the image based off of the values contained in your line of business application. As an example, let’s say you are a K-12 school district using Skyward software. You are viewing a personnel file and need to save a document into the employee’s folder you are working in. Just drag and drop the image into Connect, select the document type and you are finished. No need to type in employee data, or use capture software to save the image. Simple, accurate, done!
Originally developed with Skyward in mind, Connect has the ability to provide out of the box integration with most web-based applications. It is designed for ease of use with a minimal learning curve. As a result, it gives easy adaption to document management through your line of business software. Most importantly it improves staff productivity, efficiency and responsiveness.
